Just Saw 300, Starting a New Regiment Tomorrow

After finally seeing 300 this weekend, I have a newly restored desire to look like a Greek god. The movie itself wasn’t as bad as I thought, and it’s definitely not a dialogue-filled event, but moreso a great cinematic movie.

The lighting and staging was really amazing, and my girlfriend Stephanie definitely enjoyed the guys’ physiques. As a side note, as far as what to not watch with your girlfriend I would place 300 right up there with the Michael Phelps swim-meets to avoid the “oh wow, he’s so dreamy…”

The 300 Workout

The actual workout doesn’t seem as intimidating on paper as it is to execute it. The workout gets its name for (the movie) and the number of reps in a rotation, 300 total.

a) Pullups - 25 reps
b) Deadlifts with 135lbs - 50 reps
c) Pushups - 50 reps
d) 24-inch Box jumps - 50 reps
e) Floor wipers - 50 reps
f) Single-arm Clean-and-Press with 36lbs Kettlebell - 50 reps
g) Pullups - 25 reps

While I definitely don’t think I can achieve this in my first effort, I plan to gradually work into it. My goal is to slowly reach each milestone in a workout session. So for tomorrow (or whenever I’m healthy enough to work), I plan to do a combination of:

a) 5 sets of 10 deadlifts at 135
b) 10 sets of 5 pullups

From there, I plan to combine in the rest of the exercises until I can easily do them. Personally I’ve never done floor wipers, and without a kettle-ball I’m going to have to find a work around for the clean-and-press. I’ve included a video from Men’s Fitness on how to execute the exercises.

Anyone else looking for a new workout that’ll make you puke :) Let me know in the comments if you’ve tried this regiment before and your results. For those of you thinking about it, I welcome your thoughts, let’s do this together.

I personally started training with NO Xplode, and if you’re looking to buy NO Xplode, this is the cheapest I’ve found.
